TNPSC has announced the notification for TNPSC group 2 exam 2015. In this article, I am going to explain about TNPSC group 2 exam 2015, its eligibility details and application process.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern

TNPSC Group 2 exam 2015 occurs in 3 stages. The three stages are,

Preliminary Examination.
Main Examination and
Interview Examination.

TNPSC Group 2 Preliminary Examination

Preliminary Examination is a screening test conducted by TNPSC to wash out ineligible candidates. The total mark of preliminary examination is 300.The minimum mark required to pass the preliminary examination is 90. The question paper consists of 300 questions and the time allotted is 3 hours. In this preliminary examination, candidates will face 75 questions from General Studies, 25 questions from aptitude and 100 questions either in General English or General Tamil as opted by the candidate. The language of the question paper for general studies and aptitude will be in both English and Tamil. The marks scored in preliminary examination is not counted in the total marks. So, marks scored in preliminary examination is not going to affect your total marks but a minimum of 90 marks is required to enter next stage of the TNPSC group 2 examination 2015.

TNPSC Group 2 Main Examination

Main examination is the second stage of the selection process. The main examination will be conducted for 300 marks. The time period allowed is 3 hours. The candidates can write the exam either in English or Tamil. The minimum mark required to pass the examination is 102.

TNPSC Group 2 Interview Examination

Interview round is of 40 marks. The aim of this round to test the over all knowledge and intellectuality of the candidate. So, the total marks counted for merit list is 340. (300 in main examination + 40 in interview).

Eligibility Conditions To Apply For TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2015

Age: The candidates must have completed a minimum of 18 years in order to apply for the exam. The minimum age limit varies slightly up to 22 for few posts. The maximum age limit to apply for the posts is 40.

Education: The candidate must have completed at least their bachelor's degree. Any degree in B.A, B.Sc or B.Com is eligible to apply for the posts. But preferences are given to B.L and Commerce candidates. (Check the notification for more details. Link is given below).

How To Apply For TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2015

The candidates can apply only through the online mode. But fees can be paid through either online or offline mode. The candidates can apply through TNPSC's official website (Link is given below). The candidates are requested to have scanned images of their photographs, signature and a valid mail id/ mobile number. The hall tickets and log in details will be sent only to that registered email id and mobile number. Online payments can be done through internet banking/ credit card/ Debit card. Offline payment can be done through Post offices/ Indian Bank.

Important Dates Regarding TNPSC Group 2 Exam

Date of notification- 30/04/2015.
Last date for submission of applications- 29/05/2015.
Last date for payment of fees through offline mode- 01/06/2015.
Date of TNPSC Group 2 exam 2015 preliminary examination- 26/07/2015. Time: 10.00AM to 1.00PM.
